Terms of Service

Last updated: November 7, 2026

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of QR Code Attendance, including our website, web application, check-in pages, and live presentation features (together, the "Service"). By creating an account — with an email and password, or by continuing with Google or Microsoft — or by otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a school, company, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

Your Account

You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, you are also responsible for the security of that account.

Let us know promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to create an account.

Organizations and Team Members

Your events, locations, categories, and presentations live in an organization (workspace). The owner of an organization can invite members and give them roles; owners and admins can manage everyone's content in that organization, and members can manage their own. The owner is responsible for who they invite and for the organization's plan.

If you are removed from an organization, you lose access to its content immediately. Content you created there stays with the organization.

Attendee Data and Your Responsibilities as an Organizer

When attendees check in to your events or join your presentations, they may submit information such as their name, photo, and responses. You decide what you collect and how you use it, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it, for telling attendees how their information will be used, and for obtaining any consent required — including consent from a parent or guardian where your attendees are minors, for example in a classroom.

We process attendee information on your behalf to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the content you add to the Service, such as event details, photos, and presentation slides. You grant us a limited license to host, store, display, and process that content only as needed to operate and improve the Service for you.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload your content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful; upload content that is abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes others' rights; collect personal information from attendees without the notice or consent the law requires; try to access accounts, organizations, or data that are not yours; interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by probing, scanning, or overloading it; or resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

The Service offers a free plan with usage limits and paid plans with higher limits and additional features. Current plans, prices, and limits are shown in the app. Free-plan limits apply per organization owner, across every organization that owner owns.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose) through PayPal, and renew automatically until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize these recurring charges. PayPal's own terms also apply to your payment.

You can cancel at any time from the app. When you cancel, no further charges are made and you keep your paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at [email protected].

We may change plan prices or features. We will give you notice of a price change before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then if you do not agree.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties, including Google and Microsoft for optional sign-in and PayPal for payments. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Our Intellectual Property

The Service itself — its software, design, logos, and content we provide — belongs to QR Code Attendance and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights in it beyond using the Service as permitted here.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use creates risk or harm to the Service, to us, or to others. Where reasonable, we will let you know first.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it reliable and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that attendance records will be complete in every circumstance — for example when an attendee's device or connection fails during check-in. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, QR Code Attendance will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and for significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
